This year in 1st grade we
will be using an amazing type of instruction called Whole Brain Teaching.
Through this instruction your child will have many opportunities to participate
in class by discussing key topics and ideas with fellow students, while at the
same time utilizing gestures that help students remember important information. Additionally, your child might come
home and say he/she earned a 10 Finger Woo for correct answers, and a
"That's Cool" for incorrect responses. In a Whole Brain Teaching
classroom we are always supportive ... and never tear down! In fact, our
classroom will be so upbeat and full of task focused laughter that your child
just might beg you to come to school. With your support, we'll provide your
child with instructional methods that will work every part of his/her brain.
And that's....student heaven! Yay!
