Happy Saturday Morning! Wow, we made in through our first two days of first grade in spite of record setting heat! First grade is such an adjustment for the children as evidenced by the number of questions that I get starting about 10:30 in the morning that is something like, "Teacher, is it almost time to go home?" It's hard to answer that when you know they have several long, hot hours ahead!
I would like to mention, as long as it is in compliance with the district dress code, please dress your first grader for the heat. Shorts, (no short-shorts) and short sleeve light colored tops (no tank tops, spaghetti straps or belly shirts)
We will have our first spelling list this week. I will have the weekly newsletter to you sometime this weekend, which will include the words.
In the meantime, here is a fun photo video of the first day. It includes the children who have brought back their signed papers, which included the media release form. Please "Follow Us" on the blog, because the kids like seeing their parent's name there and also consider clicking on "Comments" under the post and leaving the class a cute message to read.

That was so fun to see everyone's picture in A.J.'s class! I'm excited to see how everyone changes through the year and see what friendships are built. Thanks for keeping up a blog for us parents to stay connected! I LOVE it!!!
